Його Величність Король привітав Президента України та усіх українців із 35-ю річницею Незалежності:

Згадуючи славетну історію України, її багату культуру та незламний національний дух, ми знову бачимо надзвичайну стійкість, яку українці виявляють у захисті своєї Батьківщини та збереженні самобутності й цінностей, що визначають вашу націю. Така непохитна рішучість продовжує викликати глибоке захоплення у Сполученому Королівстві та в усьому світі.
Мене постійно надихає міцна дружба між нашими країнами та тісні зв’язки, що єднають наші народи.
Разом із дружиною ми надсилаємо Вам і всім українцям наші щирі й особливі побажання миру, безпеки та процвітання в прийдешньому році».

“Both my wife and I are so pleased to be able to extend to you and to the people of Ukraine our heartfelt congratulations on the occasion of your Independence Day.
As we reflect upon Ukraine’s proud history, rich culture and indomitable national spirit, we are reminded of the extraordinary fortitude Ukrainians have shown in defending their homeland and preserving the identity and values which define your nation. Such steadfast determination continues to command profound admiration throughout the United Kingdom and around the world.
I remain greatly encouraged by the enduring friendship between our nations and by the close bonds which unite our peoples.
My wife and I send our sincere and special wishes to you and to all Ukrainians for the possibility of peace, security and prosperity in the year ahead. “
